Beautifully restored 1926 Berliner Maschinenbau AG (BMAG) 0-4-0T steam locomotive
Builder’s number 8778
This engine was built in Berlin, Germany for the Colombian National Railroad and spent many years working passenger trains between Bogotá (8,500 ft elevation) and Facatativá on the Sabana line
It was purchased from Colombia in the late 1960s, shipped as deck cargo to Portland, Oregon, and has been in private ownership in Oregon ever since. After an initial restoration it ran for approximately 30 years on private track in the Coast Range
In 2005 it received a complete second restoration including a brand-new, federally certified boiler built in Cheyenne, Wyoming
Mint condition with fresh boiler and strong running gear
Bright green paint with black accents – very attractive and photogenic
35 inch drivers, approx. 18 tons empty / 25 tons loaded
On-board coal bunker and water tanks

The locomotive is currently stored inside a clean, dry warehouse in Vale, Oregon
All major work is complete and she is ready to steam again with only minor finishing details remaining. This is a rare surviving example of German-built Colombian narrow-gauge power with a fascinating history and a practically new boiler
